Magnetic Reconnections in the Presence of Three-Dimensional Magnetic Nulls and Quasi-Separatrix Layers

چکیده

Three-dimensional (3D) magnetohydrodynamic simulations are carried out to explore magnetic reconnections in the presence of 3D nulls and quasi-separatrix layers (QSLs). The initial fields created by superposing uniform vertical two different magnitudes on a linear force-free field. interior numerical box contains with separatrix domes separated quasi-separator (or hyperbolic flux tube) QSLs. In first simulation, field is so large that located at low heights separate. Initially unbalanced Lorentz forces drive rotational flows form strong electric currents torsional fan reconnection weak QSL tube. Flipping or slipping lines observed both cases. second weaker larger domes, surfaces meet central their rotation drives stronger than before.

Magnetic Braiding and Quasi-Separatrix Layers

The squashing factor Q (Titov et al. 2002), a property of the magnetic field line mapping, has been suggested as an indicator for the formation of current sheets, and subsequently magnetic reconnection, in astrophysical plasmas. Here we test this hypothesis for a particular class of braided magnetic fields which serve as a model for solar coronal loops. We explore the relationship between Quasi...

Quasi - separatrix layers in solar flares II . Observed magnetic configurations

Weshow that the location ofHα orOVflare brightenings is related to the properties of the field-line linkage of the underlying magnetic region. The coronal magnetic field is extrapolated from the observed photospheric field assuming a linear force-free field configuration in order to determine the regions of rapid change in field-line linkage, called “quasi-separatrix layers” or QSLs. They are o...

Current sheets at three-dimensional magnetic nulls: Effect of compressibility

The nature of current sheet formation in the vicinity of three-dimensional magnetic null points is investigated. The particular focus is upon the effect of the compressibility of the plasma on the qualitative and quantitative properties of the current sheet. It is found that as the incompressible limit is approached, the collapse of the null point is suppressed, and instead an approximately pla...

Three-dimensional calculations of the magnetic fields in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder in an applied axial magnetic field

In this study, a set of self-consistent coupled-integral equations for the local magnetic flux and current distributions in a finite superconducting hollow cylinder under an axial magnetic field has been directly derived by using the Biot-Savart law within the framework of the critical-state model. The equations were first solved numerically in the three-dimensional space before obtaining the h...

Two-Dimensional Compact Inversion of Magnetic Data in the Presence of Remanent Magnetization

Remnant magnetization causes a change in the direction and intensity of the magnetization vector. If inversion is performed regardless of remnance, in some cases it may have unreliable and misleading results. For inversion with respect to remnant magnetization, several solutions have been proposed so far, one of which is to convert the data of total magnetic field into data that is independent ...
